Newb Engine Washing Question
Okay.. I plan to wash out my engine bay because its as dirty as ****. I've searched and read all the how-tos on how to wash your engine bay so I plan to use some simple green. But, I don't know which parts I have to cover up and how. I was going to cover my air filter, alternator, and starter with plastic bags- but what else should I cover up before I start spraying down the whole engine with water?
When I cleaned my engine bay a little bit of water got into my spark plug holes and it scared the **** out of me cus my car was bogging real bad. So be careful that you dont get any water near the spark plug holes. Take your time and good luck i bet you will be really happy with the end result. Take some before and after pics of the engine bay.
cover air filter if its an open element
cover distributor cap
make sure spark wire plugs are snug (and dotn drench em, you dont really need to)
cover alternator if ur ****
dont use a high pressure
use seran wrap to cover. ive followed tese guidlines and im fine
