Default My head is off right now, what should I do?

I just ran into problems with my timing in my '93 accord EX. The problem is it belt all the exhaust valves to hell. I currently have my head off and am in the process of getting the damage checked out and fixed.

While I have my head off what other things should I take care of at the same time. Timing belt, balance shaft belt and both tensioners have already been purchased, I could only get ahold of the timing tensioner spring, and honda didn't have the balance tens. spring. Shoud I def. locate this???

Other then the obvious fixes of the problems what else can I do? I know I should do the water pump and head gasket...

What can I do to get a little gain out of the 100% stock engine right now??

I'm new to this so any tid bits of information would help.

Thanks
Greg

I would definately do all the belts, the water pump, and gaskets. If you plan on tearing down the bottom end then get some rings, bearings and seals as well.

Thanks, I'd rather not have to do the bottom end right now, if be inspection from having the head off that everything looks fine should I be OK??

I haven't looked closely at the bottom end yet it's been to damn cold, even to be in a garage.

Lets pray I didn't do any piston damage...

On a side note how long am I going to be concidered a trial user, limiting me to 5 posts a day is harsh! Oh well I've gotten some really good feedback so far Honda-tech.com!

If you're replacing valves, new valve seals & a valve job are a good idea.

Otherwise, how much are you looking to spend? You could send it off to Alaniz or someone to get some more serious headwork.
