It's very simple, just use an intake cam from a different set than your exhaust cam. How well they work together is a completely different animal though.

it's usually recommended to use a pair of the same cams where different cams have different lobe sizes, hence different durations etc etc.

Im not saying it's dangerous to mix cams, but probably not as good of an idea to use the same pair.

The TitanMotorports car uses a JUNII Intake cam with stock ITR exhaust cam. A setup that has been proven to make excellent power, for not much cash out of the pocket.

Isn't the JUN 3 exh cam steeper than the ITR?

yeah the jun 3 exhaust cams are definitly quite a bit 'steeper' then the stock itr exh. cams but thats not to say that the itr exh. wont work w/ the jun intake cam.

i have a question myself though, if you were mixing cams as in this instance how would you go about setting up the rest of your valvetrain, jun w/ jun and oem w/ oem, or could you get away w/ stock itr valvetrain on juns stage 2s, or jun all the way around, i dont see how running jun valvetrain on itr cams would hurt but im speaking in the interest of keeping it as cheap as possible

JUN 3's, JUN 2's, Skunk 3's, Skunk 2's...the point is chances are aftermarket cams are going to produce more power than OEM ones.

Um, yep. But when you are talking about JUN2 cams, the JUN2 exhaust cam is similar to the type R exhaust cam. A number of members here have shown excellent gains with stock type r valve train, and exhaust cam when combined with a JUN2 intake cam.

You are right, you can probably squeeze out a couple more ponies with the JUN2 exhaust cam as well, but if you are building on a budget the JUN2 intake cam is defineately a deal.

This is why I was wondering why the JUN3 got brought into this conversation.
