GSXR-1000 faster stock than Busa?
The Busa is more of a cruiser if you will, less aggressive seating position, lower, you know...it's not slower by any means either. They are pretty much as fast as each other in the 1/4 mile then after that, the busa would own the 1k...however the 1k would eat it up in some twisties given the rider can handle it.
Maybe stock for stock in a 1/4 mile, but put an exhaust system on both and the busa will win in the quarter and anything else straight line. The busa's main advantages are going to be in longer distances and/or at higher speeds. Reason the gsxr wins stock is weight, horsepower, and gearing.
don't forget the busa is much older than the GSXR and there is no AMA championship riding behind the Busa.
The GSXR gets constant updates because of the racing, plus in current trim it has been out for a year while the busa has been out fovever.

two completely different bikes , they are both great but believe me if what you want is raw power ,the Busa will own pretty much anything
out there , sure the 1g will probably take it in the twisties with equal riders but the Busa is no slouch, tell you the truth even between larger margins such as 600's vs Busas it will all come down to the riders , either way Suzuki ****** rules I think they just made this 1g this badazz just to prove they they werent just smokin the zx12 becaue of the extra 100cc's with the Busa . Anyway back to your question , the gsxr is a super sport bike where as the Busa is multi purpose , believe me the guy on the Busa will be ALOT more comfortable on a three hour ride than the guy on the gsxr

So basically it's like the difference between the 929 (or now the CBR1000RR) and the 1100XX blackbird, the blackbird is meant for touring where as the other bike is meant for the race track?

Yes, that is a close assumption.. .the busa is a touring big engine, heavy bike, where as the gsxr is light with a smaller engine... busa will win in a 1/4 mile with most riders because its easier to keep the front down at launch, but the weight of the gsxr will help overcome other advantages the busa has
yes, ,the busa is classified as a sport tourer. Go to the dealership and look at the gauge panel, it looks like a tourer, just has a nice skin.
The GSXR is a sportbike. No extras.

Why not ? They appeal to different people. I for one don't want to ride on a bike that uncomfortable after an half hour of riding. Anouther advantage of the busa is torque, it has a lot. mostly due to having more cc's. One could say the same for kawasakis new zx-10 and the zx-12, but why not as long as they sell.
From a drag point of view, one thing better about a 'Busa is you can slap on a turbo or some nitrous and get excellent results. The engine is very stout. From the little I know about gixxers, they are pared down the absolute minimum to save weight- both non-engine items, and engine internals. You add much more power to a gixxer1000 you might start having problems with parts failing.
