If you are concerned, run a compression test, other than that.. drive it and enjoy it.

I would think the longevity of the engine will be seriously affected. Definately do a compression test.

 

Knocking? Probably spun a rod bearing. Happens pretty quick when you run out of oil.

Have fun with the rebuild. And why don't you kick your friend's *** and make him pay for it? Is he retarded for seeing a car on jackstands and, "Gee, lemme just start this car when I know it's being worked on."

Get new friends.

Unplug your ECU while he isn't looking, and try and start the car in front of him. Tell him that it's seized and make him buy you a whole new motor.

yeah i hade light ticking sound for a long time before mine actually went out but when it happened it knocked really loud and would not pull so beware and i highly suggest beating his ***...

 

i'd beat the **** out of him... do a compression test, then beat the **** out of him again...

 

if it sounds like there is a marble spinning around in your head, then that could be a spun bearing. thats what it sounded like when mine spun, then viola, ls/vtec.

I don't think you can drive your car "FOREVER" without oil....It's a matter of seconds or minutes that *** up your engine without any oil in the motor.

Kick his *** again.. BTW, my sisters cars oil drain plug fell out on the freeway like 3 mos. ago and died out about 10 minutes later (I heard something fall out earlier but didnt realize till the car died) Then, the motor WOULD NOT even turn over, just a really faint click sound. All I did was refill the oil and draing plug and we haven't had any problems, Hyundais take a beating(or at least this one)

Hope you compression test somes out good!
