Default used buying CHOICES!

For about the same price I can either buy a
1993 Accord EX 4-door, 4-cyl, auto-trans, cloth seats with 45,000 miles in clean condition. Dealer offers 2 month/6,000 mile warranty.
or
1996 Accord EX 4-door, 4-cyl, auto-trans, leather seats with 89,000 miles in VERY clean condition. Dealer offers 12 month/12,000 mile warranty & will replace the timing belt at No Charge.

The dealer has an A+ reputation and is one of the biggest East Coast Honda/Acura dealers. I have bought from him before.

I know the older car has lower mileage, but I have to wonder if the '96 isn't all-over newer or if the '96 has a better engine design and/or better safety/design features under the skin.

What to do? Help, please.

Sorry to be sloppy about this, but if someone would be kind enough to post here a carfax SUMMARY on 1HGCD5665TA065629 & 1HGCB7673PA130557 I'd be grateful.

Please don't e-mail. For a lot of stupid personal reasons, this e-mail address can't receive temporarily.

Thanks in advance ...

get the '96 model, it has more power, and is generally an all around better car imho.

for any other car, the 44,000 mile difference would be huge, but not an accord. go with the 96, it will b better in the long run

get a five speed, they are a lot more fun, and you can work more power out of them.

Now THIS was almost entirely useless advice. If 5-speed was an option, I'd have mentioned it. I asked about two specific cars, didn't I?

how much is the dealer selling the cars for?

hotmirror -relax, you dont have to get all pissy just cause he made a comment about getting a 5-speed...im sure he was just implying that maybe you should look into a deal involving a stick...

For what I think is a reasonable price. Since they're about the same, I don't want the $$$ to influence YOUR advice to me. I need opinions based on the relative merits of the vehicles themselves. Thanks!

wow, someone's sheisty about info. in that case, go with the 96...but also take into consideration that people on this board with 4th gens will likely tell you to go for the 93 and 5th gens likewise with the 96.

Thanks to all. I put the deposit down on the '96 yesterday, for 10,200.00. FWIW, the '93 was 1000.00 cheaper.
