Ok I'm having some issues with my damn jdm b18c, when I first got the motor 6 months ago my vtec would kick in hard and strong at 4500 rpms, now it will only kick in at 5000 rpms in 1st and 2nd gear, in 3rd and 4th it still kicks in at 4500 rpms. What gives?? I have noticed a slight oil leak coming from the vtec solenoid but I think it is the cam seal leaking. Any Ideas??

Fix the leak... any hint of oil leaking is not good esp. with a VTEC motor since it relies on a proper oil level to engage.

 

just take the time to change the cam seal with a billet one, then get an oem honda vtec solonoid gasket + oil filter. change ur oil with some clean stuff. should fix it. chances are you aren't building up the oil pressure you need for the ecu to allow you to hit vtec untill 5000rpm.

 

Cool thats exactly what I thought it was, just wanted to make sure. Do you know of any where that I can get the str cam seals from?? I am just going to replace them all.
