i've got an extra stock muffler and wanna make a straight pipe outta it (for autoxing only and for something to do in metal shop. AutoXing for minimal hp gains and weight reduction)

what size piping should i use to replace the muffler with? and will it be THAT loud or about as loud as one of those canister type mufflers since it's after the stock resonators

pretty sure its 1.75" (not 100% tho) and yes it will be quite loud

 

do something cool. make a side exit exhaust or something like that

 

would 2" be sufficient?

side exhaust...eh...nah, i'd have to get the pipe bent and that would be extra (this has got to be as cheap as possible

 

i believe stock is 2....and thats only cause ive seen test pipes on ebay w/ a 2 in outlet........im guessing its gonna be loud as ****.....make sure uve got a good resonator and that u measure out ur hanger location well
