1996 Honda Accord EX... 175k miles...
Recently, I've been noticing droppage of about 30 miles per fill up... and just this morning I got a check engine light on my way to work. Is there a way to check this without going to a dealership or spending money for a reader that I would use just once or twice?
Thanks for your help
about 3 months ago.. I did the typical tune up.. spark plugs, wires.. timing belts/water pumps were done about a year ago.. few things that I've done are fuel filter, oxygen sensor or whatever...
i just want to find out how to read check engine light status...

I know it sounds stupid, but next time you fill up with gas, be sure to tighten the gas gap until you hear at LEAST 3 clicks.
If that doesn't take care of the Check Engine in a couple of days, then you can worry about somethign else.
