Default Cams setup questions ... please help

I have used the search facility without much luck... please assist if possible.
Wondering if someone can please clarify somehting for me in regards to me setup.
I have a jdm B18cR running in my 88CRX. I am wanting to run eith Toda B / C or Jun 3 cams. I have Toda valve springs and AEM cam gears.

Questions are:
1. The Jun 3 cams ok with toda valve springs?
2. Can I use the stock type r retainers or do I have to go aftermarket? any
recommendations?
3. AEM gears ok with Jun / toda cams?
4. I have told I need to some head wok?
5. I have been told I need to upgrade to a better oil gear pump?
6. How to tell if I have toda valve springs ( I bought them used)
7. compresion increase necessary? how?

Anyone see any problems with this setup? Any thing I've missed?
Sorry about being long winded ... new to this area. thanks in advance

#1-Yes.
#2-Stock retainers are o.k., but I prefer titanium retainers.
#3-Yes... I run AEM gears with Toda cams.
#4-A good port job will help maximize your engine's potential.
#5-The stock VTEC oil pump is fine.
#6-Hard to tell, but one characteristic that separates the Toda springs from most aftermarket springs is the coils at the bottom are wound tighter (closer together) just like OEM ITR springs.
#7-More compression is not absolutely necessary, but will complement bigger cams. Higher dome pistons is the best way to achieve more compression. Thin head gaskets and milling the head will also raise compression.

Tuning makes a world of difference on any setup.

Valvespring pressure is one main factor in determining if u can run large lift cams.

Bumping compression IS necessary. Or else you're putting out less cranking pressure than a stock engine. Especially on bigger cams like the ones you listed, you'd be overcamming your engine. Those cams like close to a 12.0:1 CR. Definitely bump the compression.
