looks pretty nice. the only thing thats strange is that under their "why buy a vortech supercharger?" link...they compare their supercharger to NA(internals) and BOLT ONSS?!? why dont they step up to the plate against turbo

the hp gains don't seem to be that different from the JRSC....acouple of buddies of mine with JRSCs have dynoed their gsrs and got around 210-220 hp at the wheels with a pulley upgrade
so r they saying that u will see a 75hp gain on stock parts? So if u have i/h/e and vafc how much of a gain do u think there would be?
Um i didn't read the article close enough..but does the kit come with 8lb pulley upgrade?
i was expecting more hp gain..since it claims 275hp for SIs...a friend of mine has that on her SI and she dynoed at 250 at the wheels

either way i think a gsr get into the low 13s high 12s with a pulley upgrade

Overpriced and underperforming is my motto when it comes to the Vortech kits.

 

I dunno, I was pretty impressed with the 270+ WHP they got from the SI kit. I'll wait to see what happens with the GSR kit and aftercooler.

 

I'm talking about at the track man. I have yet to see, or hear decent times form one of these kits. They all seem to underperform at the track. And this is from the Si kits with th IC. These won't even have the freaking best part of the kit, the air/water IC.

for $4400 i'd rather build my engine and my own turbo kit....... and have way more hp

keep in mind that's with only 6psi and no aftercooler. it will probably pick up another 20 with the aftercooler. and with a 8 or 10 pound pulley another 30-40 hp.
True it is pricey wait till its out on the market a while i'm sure the price will come down.

 

vortech is way too overpriced...plus all those add ons youre talkin bout are gonna blow the price outta the water 4 good.

and I have seen the kit for the SI's, with the Aftercooler for under $4k plus look at what the kit includes. Also, a 10psi pulley only runs like $40

 

The Vortech isnt all that impressive. It makes great power, but its all like above 7000RPM. Until then its basically not anything special. And its expensive as ****.
My buddy got his Si Vortech kit right when it came out, it was one of the first kits, and at the time I was very impressed. After being exposed to Turbo & the JRSC, Im less satisfied with Vortechs kit. Thats what you have to keep in mind, is all the amazing power is up top. Its got the lag of a turbo with the parasitic loss of a SC.

And Ive seen some decent times. Steve (BoostedSi) is in the high 12's or very low 13's I believe by now, with the Vortech @ 10PSI. My buddy hasnt had ONE problem since the install, which is impressive, not one single thing. Its a nice poweradder, but for the price, it isnt worth it at all IMO.
