Default Which would you prefer EG or EK...

I'm wondering what should I buy??? I have an eg coupe now but I really want a Ek hatch. My question is what you would get and why. I really don't want another eg but why are people still buying them over the Ek's???

eg's are lighter and they take more parts
friendlier to tune as well

I have an ek and i think the exterior and interior is nicer...thats about it

if ur talking about getting an eg hatch then its a couple hundred pounds lighter than the ek hatch, but the eg coupe (ej1/2) actually weighs a little less than the ek hatches. i prefer coupes over hatches anyways though, i think too many ppl have hatches. i think 5th gen civics look better than 6th gens too .

Ill never drive any civic besides a EK, egs are lighter yes, but i think EKs look more aggressive (LOL aggressive and civic in the same sentence whoa) plus I like the bigger interior feel of my EK

i like them both but i gotta go with ek hatch 99-00 they just look clean. Did you want a project car or just something to drive? eg's are lighter but both have a lot of potential...

thats my two cents!

eg is cheap and easier for swap. ek is a little more pricey but you get a car in much better condition (in most cases). i prefer the ek just b/c eg's are kinda played out - espec. hatches IMO

If you want a car that isn't "played out" don't bother getting any civic.

eg's all the way. only one ek hatch i would take over a eg and thats a 96 midori green, or how ever you spell it.. you know what im talkin about. that with a 99-00 front end and you have got yourself a much nicer ek then any eg imo.

I wouldn't drive an ek if it was given to me with an turboed h22 swap.

I think the exterior and interior are DIRT UGLY... There's just about NOTHING I like about them...

I think the EG is one of the best looking cars ever made... and I mean that VERY seriously... it is "THE" coupe imo... I think it's better looking than an M3.

As far as the hatchbacks... I like the EG's MUCH more too... although I don't think they're all that great looking ... the back-end looks dumb imo... but MUCH better than the EK one...

As far as the 99-00 si being the best looking car honda ever made I'd have to disagree... I like the back end but as soon as you get to those goofy-*** headlights it loses me, I also don't like the mirrors... the 92-93 side mirrors are WAY better looking imo. The honda integra type R is MUCH better looking... if you include acura under honda then the 90-93 integra hatchs are MUCH MUCH better looking than the SI as well as the S2000.

EK all the way. I have a '97, black with the metallic red flake. Very nice when buffed and polished. I do have a tone of people comment on the hatch. As far as weight and speed. Do it right and you wont have that problem. With the stock motor (FEW UPGRADES HERE AND THERE), i was keeping up with integra's and a few of them i would pull on... Now i am swapping in a B16A, Hopefully Turbo, if not then supercharged. Have a friend in japan that is in the A/F. and he is talking to a guy over there and he has a twin turbo, that's right twin turbo EK. So it's all what you like. If you like what you drive, doesn't matter what other people's opinion is. You ride in it everyday, they don't! Right? You spend money on they don't. Now if they gave you money for a car they like. Show me the car and give me the money to hook it up with... Just my opinion.....

I think the 92-95 EH/EG whichever you choose hatches look better than the coupes of 92-95. But I think the 96-00 coupes look better than EK's.

Well to me money was an issue when i got my car so i went with the EG for easier swap less hassel. But i would much rather prefer a EK over an eg if income wasnt an issue. I like the looks of an ek over an eg i guess it's because i've owned an eg for way to long But i do think EK has more parts in the market.
