Default Sixth Generation (98-02) Accord Survey Question

All you sixth generation owners who have at least 100k miles on your car please tell me what you think so far. Engine? Drive train? Suspension? leaks? Motor mounts? etc. Would you honestly do it again?

I have 119k miles on my 99 4 banger (I bought the car brand new). Engine and auto tranny still feel like new. My car has been slightly lowered for about 45k miles, but everything is still in good shape. Motor and tranny mounts are in good shape. No leaks whatsoever anywhere on the car (engine oil, tranny fluid, brake, power steering, a/c, coolant). Aside from regular maintenance, I haven't had to make any repairs.

The only thing I would have done differently would have been to get the manual transmission, simply because it's more fun... Would I do it again? Yep.

I love my car but I think if I were to go back and do it over, I'd buy something else.

I had a broken shift linkage covered under warranty. I have the common misalligned shifter fork that causes 5th gear grinds. I had the block crack between the oil passage and the water jacket, requireing a new engine. The old motor had a leak in the rear main seal. I had to replace a wheel bearing. I also have a broken drivers seat, covered by the recall but still a pain in the ***.

all before 125k

I drive hard, but I don't beat on the car. It's probably spent most of it's life at 70mph or above. it gets all it's required maintenence on time, and either synthetic or honda fluids and filters.

I've almost got 100,000 on her. the only thing I had to do was the timing belt, brakes, and the clutch. I kept up with the maintaince and everything is great. the only other problem I have is a misaligned shifter fork. other than that I love the car and will drive it into the ground. If I could do it all over again, I would have gotten something a little quicker but I'm pretty happy with the handling and performance. its enought to get me into trouble.

Im pushin 142k on my 98 4dr. I love it, it takes all the abuse ive given her. So far only thing buggin me is the CEL but its jus a O2 sensor so it doesnt bother me much. My two front struts have jus gone so no big deal, just regular stuff. I really hated my 98 when i got it and pushed it very hard, didnt change oil regularly but its still holding up very good. Im planning on boosting it next year. I have auto too and drive the **** outta it, I dont think theres a better auto tranny out there that can beat Honda's, that is with no sport shift or anything else involved. I tend to drive it like a manual sometimes, 1,2,d3,d4...downshifts too. I love it. Holds up fine! Im gonna boost on a new engine and tranny of course, i think imma nitrous i till it blows though.

Sorry, I can't help out.

Don't have over 100k miles. Hell, I don't even have half that.

So far, I've only needed to replace both o2 sensor, and something with the ignition mechanism was just recalled. That's about it.

Even though my wife's 99 4 dr I4 only has 80,000 miles on it, I'll chime in.

I've had to replace the brakes once, replace the factory battery last year, and had to have the throttle body cleaned a couple of times and had the timing belt replaced last week.

The car still drives like new. No squeaks or rattles at all. I would definitely buy this car again.

Ok... 98 accord 4banger ex sedan..currently 180-190k on the baby.
-First major problem..when it was 3-4 years old, problems were wheel barings(replaced), transmission almost went out, so it was rebuilt for an expensive figure,(gears were grinded, transmission cracked and leaked).

-Next was the drivers side passenger lock actuator. The door doesnt unlock or lock through switch or remote till this day.

-Next in line.. the temperature guage, jumps up and down while car is in motion. Dealer first replaced sending unit and thermostat, ended up getting robbed because it still jumped after that. Im pretty sure its touching ground somewhere which causes the jump.

Well other than that i can say that my baby girl is perfect for everyday driving and accelerates/handles well enough for me. Poor her, suffered abuse from my father before she got handed over to me. Well anyways all i have on her is an intake and ive been able to get a few kills with her on the freeway.
Its a 4spd auto and i shift her like crazy..and boy does she love it
I have plans for an h22 when she gives up on me
