Default tranny problem 88 prelude

Hello. I have a tranny/clutch problem. It will not go into gear while started, but
it will when not started. I have seen a post here where someone had about the same problem .. I put it in 3rd gear
and drove it all the way homeand it didnt stall one time. I wasted $60 on a slave cylinder and it did nothing. I need help i am tired of driving this loaner. Try picking up a chick in 91 buick skylark. with a nonworking driverside
window......

Any help would be great..

thanx
EDDIE

sounds like you need a new clutch... So if you have the car off and you put it into gear... start the car it will stay in one place like it won't roll when your cranking it?? Also if you clutch in can you idle in gear??

You need a new clutch.... either is't worn out or it's broken. I bet you find a broken/missing spring in the disk when you pull it.

yeah clutch sounds like a culprit but did you ever check the master cylinder?

if you change the clutch but the master cylinder is gone, it's going to be big trouble again for you. a new slave wouldn't help either (if it really was the master cylinder).

they're pretty cheap (>100$) and fairly easy to change too
