Calling all Hondata Intake gasket owners
I was searching Honda-tech as always and come across a post about Hondata Intake manifold Gaskets. After reading what hondata claims,( example dyno chart) I want to hear what fellow HT members think about it. I already have a skunk2 man installed so I searched and found that longer head studs would be a must. Should I believe the hype?
How would you increase the length of the intake manifold studs?
I like my Honda OEM gasket. It seemed to insulate quite well compaired to two different aftermarket gaskets.
AND it was 5 dollars!

I was going to change out the 8x25 gsr intake studs with 8x40
Honda part 92900-08040-1B. A hondata is re useable and keeps intake temps down. At least that's what the website said. I'm just trying to find out from people that know the truth.

I have one and yes the intake manifold does feel a bit cooler after running the car for a while but i don't how much its really helping me. My main reason for having it is just being able to reuse it.
i have made a similar gasket to hondatas, it keeps the intake cooler than the hondata did on my friends car. There is a difference!!!!!!!! I have reused my gasket 5 times.

Skunk2 - did you use the longer manifold stud that B18C2-sedan listed with yours?
Just curious cuz I have taken off my manifold enough times to warrant the $ tag.

i got one when i put my edlebrock intake manifold on. there definately is a difference in manifold temp. after running my car hard i can still tough the intaske manifold and ym motor is turbocharged. before i couldnt do that.
I've seen better times at the track by icing down the intake. Cooler is better on the intake side of the house. That is a proven fact.
Well I think it time to fork out some money for a hondata gasket.

it is jsut main out of polyphenelic material, a little thicker, i do reccomend replacing the studs. i didnt hve to on mine but i did on a friends,we both have skunk2 manifolds.
I have one on my D16Z6 Autocross car. I have the stock IM.
I also use the Iceman headlight ram air piece.
The sole purpose of these two pieces for me was to supply the engine with the coldest air I could.
Seeing how every little bit helps, I figured I'd start with cold air.
The IM has been measured with a pyrometer 30* cooler than the head, two inches away from each other.
Whether it was after the first run, or last run.

Best 60 dollar mod ive done. I didn't extend the studs. There is definatly a noticable temp. difference esp. with the JRSC. Well worth the moneyin my opinion.
In the directions it says to reroute the coolant lints that go from your motor/ thermostat, to the iac, to the throttle body, and back to the motor or thermostat housing. (depends on what motor you have, i have a h22a) basically it says to go from the thermo housing to the iac and back from the iac to the thermo housing. Honestly, i think that is the real reason why this gasket works, cause there isnt hot coolan being past by the throttle body anymore... just what i think... i have it only cause its reusable... 5 times 15 bux is more than 60 dollars so it pays for itself...
