Attempted theft on the R
last night some one tryed to jack my bros 98 itr, they got past the alarm they got past the club. they couldnt find the fule cut switches i put in last week.(thank god)
But what really looked odd was the clutch lock was shattered, into 10 pieces.I was like wtf, how is this possible.
What do you guys think they did to the auto lock to make it shatter like that?
My only guess is they froze it and hit it with a hammer or something.
Do you think they could have used nitrous to freaze it then smashed it.

could be possible. but liquid nitrogen is hard to get ahold of.

easy , freon,,,,,, just like in the 90's when it was used when the club first came out.... same principle
get a boot.... and you probably see how on the alarm was easily disabled,,, 4 wire connector ring a bell????..... even if the autolock was still intact it can be used easily to bend the clutch just enough to move it to theleft and stil use the clutch to shift.....
wire up your alarm again and wrap in in metal and hide the brain within the dash behind the cluster gauge or behind the heater blower area....
and remember if you want to keep your car you have to think like a thief to stop one......and always layer your security like you had.. and it saved one this time....

Luck is on your side dude,
Next time those fouls come make sure you have a note taped to the inside of the window stating: I AM WATCHING YOU RIGHT NOW, AND ABLE TO KILL YOU!

I very much need to add switches to my car. I am also curious how they got past the autolock though, most thieves would not go throught the trouble and its funny they must have been watching the car for a while. Is there anything special done to the car to cause such motivation and act of ***** to steal the car?

Good advice so far from everyone. Garage and boot.
Also, probably shouldnt list what is on the car for security, as there is a small chance the theives browse the forums.

I just think it's hilarious that someone's trying to steal a car and using freon to freeze and shatter parts to steal a car. Man you'd think these dudes are jewel thiefs. it's a good thing they didn't steal your car though.

OMFG....
LOCKSMITHS
TOW TRUCK OPERATORS
AUTOMOBILE REPOSSESSION PROFESSIONALS
FIREMEN & PUBLIC SAFETY SERVICES ....
I'm sure firemen would probably need to break the anti theft devices to get people out of cars in accidents (makes you wonder who would be driving with the club on in the first place, maybe they should leave them in the car
), especially since they can cut cars in half with their "jaws-of-life"...
or locksmiths for that matter (atleast if they were real locksmiths, they are supposed to pick the lock, not break it, and why under 60 seconds since the owner will be there with you)...
or tow truck operators... they aren't supposed to break and enter the car are they? I mean they are supposed to pick up the car by the drive wheels anyway... and they have those nifty wheel trays...
the only real justfication is the repo men... but really... I'm sure they don't ask for credentials before selling these kind of things either... not to mention that these days they seem to be glorifying auto theft (with things like that "Repo Men: Stealing for a living" series on TV).
Sigh... what is this world coming to?
