Default Deciding what pipe to go with??

Alright I have an 03' CBR 600 F4i and want to just dress up and put some basic bolt ons on it. I went riding today with a couple buddys and they each have louder than hell pipes on there that both sound damn good. One is a 955 with a Triumph pipe on it and a Daytona 600 with a Micron on it. The 600 was the best sounding bike I have ever heard. I didnt want to go the same route as him and was going to go with two bros but after I heard his bike I'm really thinking of getting a micron. Do you guys have any other suggestions on what type pipe I should go with? Thanks

I love the sound of my Vance & Hines SS2R slip on. All I know is that D&D pipes are LOUD...quite possibly the loudest pipes around.

Yes I know that D&D pipes are stupid loud. I have heard them on a video clip from this site actually. Im not really down with something that loud. I still want loud but the quatlity of the sound is what impresses me. Not a loud bumble bee sound that peirces your eardrumb as it goes by .

The Ideal Exhaust to me must sound good and be loud enough so that old people can hear me. But, the downfall to that is that the cops can also hear you. As long as it sounds good!

Well Akrapovic makes good exhaust products but if you want something cheaper you can go with something like a Yoshi slip on.

I agree with the Vance & Hines exhaust. I had one on my F2, this thing sounded AMAZING! Everyone thought my bike sounded better than anybike out there. Wish i had taken a clip of the sound before I sold it. Here is a link to the one i had on my CBR

Not sure how it will sound on the F4i tho.

In my experience, the 2 bros slip on is the best slipon for the f4i. This is considering the note and any effects on power delivery. The micron is also a good piece for the f4i, I would take the 2 bros over it anyday though. I have the benefit of having had both for the same application. I believe some people have had shitty quality control and some fitment issues w/ micron but overall they are a popular company.

I really like the look and sound of my Yoshimura TRS slip on, but to each his own. I also thought the D&D sounded nice on my buddy's GSXR600, very loud, but it sounded nice. Now, I wouldn't want to ride very long, or very often with it that loud...

Id have to disagree with the Jardine pipe. Ive heard one on an F4i, very loud but VERY ricey in tone. If thats what ure looking for thats fine, but i prefer a deeper sounding exhaust.... V&H *cough*

Akrapovic is good, but no better than anything else...Look at test reviews on those pipes, they don't make any better performance at all than a yoshi...Yoshis are great pipes, My buddy has a hindle on his ZX-9 and it sounds real nice..I personally lke Yoshi the best but if you got money to burn and go akrapovic.

I've got a Micron on my Speed Four , which is the same thing as your buddy's TT 600. I really like the sound, pretty deep but not too loud. I heard a 600 RR yesterday with a Micron on it and it sounded amazing!, you couldn't hear it at idle but once he blipped it, it just gave out a really deep growl-not sure if these engines are similar to the F4I or not though. I had a Two Brothers on my F3 and really liked it-not too loud but loud enough. I also had a Devil slip-on on my 2003 R6 and absolutely hated it, way too loud and annoying and it was the worst quality piece of over priced crap I've ever come across and their customer service is terrible. The only thing I'd suggest if you go with Micron is get aluminum or stainless steel, the carbon fiber cans have had tons of issues with them spider webbing.

Get a carbon fiber Devil High Mount. Nothing sounds or looks better than the Devil IMO...

Get a 2 bros for your f4i. If you don't like it I will come over and you can punch me in the face.

Akra systems have their advantages in certain applications/conditions over yoshi systems. The same can be said vice versa but to a lesser degree. You cannot go wrong w/ either but note that I am referring to full systems on otherwise unmodified engines
