I'm being offered a pretty new B18C1 GSR engine for $1000. I'm 16 and that's about all I can afford, I'm sure this is a good deal but I was wondering if you guys thought I should spend the money on the GSR engine or wait and get another kind?
By the way it's going into a 1999 Civic CX with a d16y7 engine
.

I think you should work on being a kid. Save your money for more importiant things, and before you spend any money on your car (especially something big like a motor swap) do a TON of research and save up twice as much as you think you're going to need or you're going to be out of your money and not have a car to drive.

He said it has 60 miles (not 60k) on it because it's been sitting in his garage and he bought it brand new. I don't believe him but $1000 is really good.
if its complete meaning engine, tranmission, axles, mounts, wiring harness, then go ahead and cop that biaaatch!
btw: only reason why someone would sell a gsr motor for that cheap is either
1. its been stolen
2. hydrolocked and needs complete overhaul

I had two turbo setups and a NA setup before I was out of HS and I wish I hadnt wasted all of the money/time working. I could have done a lot more fun stuff in HS if I hadn't been so worried about my car. It's just a car.

no doubt.
It's either:
A. Stolen
B. rebuilt and blew up after 60 miles
C. Not even real
D. The deal of the week
I would say A most likely

IMHO,, it's hot off the street and he's tryin to get rid of it.. no one in their right state of mind would sell a geezer for $1g... ask for some paperwork then think about it long and hard.. good luck man.

60 miles? that's almost impossible for only $1000.......that would be a deal , but to tell you the truth , he's probably talkin scheet.............C1 , run the block/vin #'s and find out the history. ..........sounds too good to be true........check it out.
