I am not a fan of turbos and homemade turbos are way down at the bottom of my list, so consider this when I give my opinion.

A turbo will put more strain on every system inside your engine and a 100k mile engine is NOT a good place to start. But, if you keep the boost to a fairly low number (about 5psi) your engine will be able to survive... for a while.

Instead of slapping a turbo on a tired engine, why not refresh what you have with a port and polish, more agressive cam and a bigger throttlebody? The car will have a lot more power, be more driveable and reliable.

i have to agree, the turbo will eventually blow your engine and then you are pretty much back at the beginning of what to do next---new car, engine swap etc......

nonsense!
compression test and leakdown. when you pull the valve cover, how does the head look? Caked with old burned oil or still ok?

I have seen a bunch of 100k+ motors in at honda that looked brand new underneath because the owners care for the cars and CHANGE THIER F&#R*YD oil!!

I have seen plenty of Hondas with 100k + mi add turbo kits to them with out problems. I agree with "Accord94DX" I would do a compression and leak down test to determine what kind of condition the engine is in before boosting. If the engine is in pretty good condition I would do a pretty thorough tune-up making sure that the motor is running like it should. Besides that I say go for it. Oh yea don’t forget to change the timing belt if you haven’t yet!
