Axles - '00 Si
A friend of mine has a rebuilt Si... he did JE pistons (10:1 ?), rings, blockguard, eagle rods, ACT clutch and flywheel, moroso oil pan, competition cams, cam gears, fpr, BBK fuel pump, P&P head and IM, etc... well the car had 150k on it and now hes doin some brake work.. hes concerned about the axles.. what options does he have? he wanted to know about type r axles, and what about supension work? he likes the stock ride but what do you gusy think?

or Autozone.they do have a lifetime warranty.for the power he's putting out,these will be fine.ITR axles have no advantage.
as for the suspension,soem coilover sleeves,good shocks and an alignment are a good start.do a search,there are lots of threads on this.

right.i know that Autozone doesn't have a listing for ITR or GSR DC Tegs.i just always get LS axles.
i was just saying there was no advantage to the ITR units over other Teg/B16 axles.

by the way do you think the stock strut bar on the Si needs to be upgraded to a Tanabe or Skunk2 or is it stiff enough?

you may notice some benefit from going to a better strut bar.you can get the knock-off Mugen bar off ebay for a good price,and it seems to be pretty good.i'd aslo recommend the Neuspeed upper front bar-i'm very happy with it,and it's inexpensive.

as for upper and lower rear strut bars,like i said-go cheap.ALL of them attach to the same points,so i don't see any advantage to the expensive ones.
for sway bars-what car is this going on?if it's for the Si,leave the stock front bar on it,and one of the quality rear kits.i like the Comptech kit with the built-in subframe reinforcement plate.
for shock and springs,some good quality shocks(Konis or AGXs are what i'd prefer) and either some good coilover sleeves(Ground Controls)or lowering springs(Pro Kits are good).

yea thats exactly what i was thinkin on this... i think he should upgrade the suspension... just wanted to confirm this b/c he says he likes the stock suspension.. but he buillt the rest of the car.. .might as well do everything right
