how to smoke/tint '00 integra headlights..
first of all how should i take the headlight covers off? i want to be able to put them back together with out it having a leak in the future.. what kind of glue or sealant would i need to use?
then should i pick from painting or powdercoating the housing of the headlights
or
should i just smoke or tint the headlight covers?

if you want the headlights to look dark when off, just paint the projector bezels. They come off with the clear cover and are attached to the clear cover w/ 3 screws. I did mine when I had my 94 headlights and it did not reduce the HID output at all, but did reduce the glare that escaped above the cutoff line.

well i have a black gs-r and im going for a all black look.. and i dont really want to paint the headlight covers because they're illegal and i have enough fix it tickets.. i was thinking of maybe just painting the housings a flat black.. your lights still look u didnt do anything to them..
Be careful using some of the smoke tint spray in head lights. I had a friend with a 2000 celica. He put is a little to thick on his head lights and almost melted a hole through the light. It got to the point that it stated melting the plastic on top before he realised.

Yeah, I'd like to know that, too. I had an extra set of headlights, and they're sitting here in front of me, open and ready to paint.

painting those headlight black is the worst thing you could do.......they look terrible and im sure they cause light distribution problems....but its your car.....i like black housing..i have them but mine came stock, that another story.

well I like them, but it would look better if the high beam bezels (NOT the reflectors, just the bezels only) were also painted.
And it actually improves the HID beam pattern (HID in stock halogen housing). Some of the light was reflecting up off the chrome bezel before, and this reduced that glare to zero. Overall light output was not affected in any visible way whatsoever.
It's even worse on my 2000 lights because the chrome bezels are bigger, especially on the bottom below the projector lens. I can't wait to paint my 2000 bezels.
I just used some flat black paint, high-temp would probably be best.

The high beam does have a bezel attached to the clear cover, as well, which could be painted. It should have little to no effect on high beam output if it were painted.
And I don't really have enough time to work on my own stuff, let alone other people's stuff. Besides, what if I were to mess up or break your headlights while I was trying to get them apart or something? I don't really want to take that chance.

I don't think that you'll be able to do that. My guess is that the bezels are made of plastic. Now, I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that powdercoating puts a charge on the *metal* part that you are painting, and puts an opposite charge on the powder (the paint comes as a powder). Then, the paint powder is sprayed, and the opposite charges of the part and the paint attract each other. Thus, the powder particles cling to the metal. Then, when you put it in the oven and bake it, they cure or whatever and stay on and make it nice and pretty and shiny. At least, that's how I thought it works....
It'll definetly work for the rims, though.

Haha yeah never thought of that, no powdercoating for headlight parts. Just use high-temp flat black paint. You don't want it shiny or it defeats the purpose (reducing glare).
