Default EXPO , maintenance, to do list, what to do before you leave

Here's what I'm looking at:
Waiting on vacation request change approved, 02/17
2,900 miles one way, 5,800 mile round trip
Co-Driver has already committed to gas $$ and hotel $$, on the 3rd co-driver
Waiting on a check from work, done and paid

With Check from work:
pay EXPO fees DONE, 02/17
finish oil cooler, maybe
order oil pressure gauge, parts will be here 7/02
order seat done
order harnesses done
order tiresdone
order brakes From Cobalt Friction arrived 02/17
buy stock in Mobil1 - still working on this one

Maintence work that needs to be done before EXPO:
timing belt done
water pump done
coolant flush done
valve adjustment done X2
install baffled oil pan will arrive 07/02
install oil temp guage July 4th weekend install
install oil pressure guage July 4th weekend install
install oil cooler - maybe
tune part throttle maps for better gas mileage - partially done
install new rotors - 02/02 Ordered from Andie @ Cobalt Friction Arrived 02/17 - Done
change brake fluid - 02/02 Ordered from Andie @ Cobalt Friction Arrived 02/17 - Done
Order new Rear Pads - 02/02 Ordered from Andie @ Cobalt Friction Arrived 02/17 - Done
install brake ducting - Arrived 02/02 - maybe, modified the Heat shields instead
fabricate something for the front brake ducts - see above
Install Valentine1 remote display Arrived 02/02 - week of July 5th
Mount Valentine1 to rollbar - same as above
Get car aligned - thanks Willard done
Installed MP3/CD head unit in car done

Installed new clutch/pressure plate and tranny fluid last month.


Other than that I'm ready to go

Anything that I've missed?

Austin - 71,000 miles and counting - now at 81,000 and counting...should be at 90k when I get there

Wow, you'll be almost at 80k by the time you get home. That's commitment. I'm so paranoid about putting miles on my R....24k and idle until March.

Depends on how many miles I'll have on the turd by the time Expo rolls around.

Hopefully it'll be minor things like adding a baffled oil pan.

Helps to prevent oil starvation in high G turns, like the huge circle that they installed.

They baffle, confuse and distort things so that your engine thinks it's a torquey V8!



It keeps the oil in the pan by using plates extending over the reservoir and around the oil pick up. Reduces the chance for oil starvation during high G turns.

Thank you guys for the clarificaton I figured that was their purpose. I dunno what the hell I need never done an HPDE before or participated in a West Virginian Hoe Down either.

-front and rear camber kit install (waiting on new skunk2 *****)
-put the OE front sway bar back on
-remove power steering system
-replace a bad cam seal
-remove the tranny and replace the release bearing and install clutch kit (if needed).
-dyno tune at P1 (vafc styles)
-valve adjustment
-install a new rear header bracket
-install m00gen shifter bushings
-install m00gen lower front a-arm bushings (2 done, 2 to do)
-check/adjust alignment (now with camber adjustments)

willard, what happend with your other skunk2 *****? did they wear out?

I just installed the skunk arms recently and so far so good. Im guessing all this salt and crappy cold weather will age them quickly though.

Exb0 is too far away for me to worry about maintenance issues right now. Only thing my car NEEDS is oil and gas.

-Fujitsubo RM01A and cat
-JIC FLTA2's, 26mm rear sway bar, and adjustable upper A arms (front)
-AP Rollbar/padding
-Brake ducting (maybe)
-New ball joints/random other bushings
-ES Shifter bushings

Buy:
-New Cobalt pads (VR's)
-Tires (Falkens or Toyo RA1, haven't decided yet)
-Oil Temp Gauge/Oil Cooler
-Harness/Seat (probably not seat yet )
-Pay for expo in a few days
-Buyout lease next month, as it ends on March 21.

Fix:
-Sandblast/clean/rebuild F/R calipers
-Remove exhaust heat shields
-Valve Adjustment

ETC
-scrub 2 months of salt off the car whenever winter ends
-wax/detail

-Motive brake bleeder pump
-Steering Wheel
-Suspension (need to find a stock set with low miles, anyone selling??)
-Header fixed
-Heater, so I wont freeze my nutz off
-Motor mounts
-Data logger (maybe)
-Vfac/tunning (maybe)
-Final drive (maybe)
-And alot other stuff that I cant think off

Fix
-The head (bent exhaust valves)
-Tranny (new syncros)
-Clutch

Maintance:
-Everything

Most important:
-Lose weight so I can fit into my seat again

Ryan-Who should start working and ordering parts but is too lazy right now

Here's a little list I posted elsewhere before seeing this thread...

$128.00 = Gas = 2200miles / (30mpg X $1.75)
$ 78.75 = Gas for Racing = 45 gallons X $1.75 (3 tanks for weekend)
$ 60.00 = Food = Thurs PM-Mon (5 days x 2 meals) x $6 (I'm cheap)
$120.00 = Room = 4 days x ~$30 (your portion &gt;&gt; when sharing)
<u>$ 40.00 = Misc Crap = BEER = $40</u>
$426.75 = WHEW!!

DON'T FORGET...
$ 50.00 - 2 Oil changes
$250.00 - New set of azenis
$ 60.00 - oh yea - I gotta get tires mounted
$ 60.00 - total fluids (coolant, brake-superblue, tranny)
<u>$200.00 - BRAKE PADS! (front & rear) [even with discount!]</u>
$620


GRAND TOTAL $1046.75

ouch...WORTH EVERY PENNY + The car will be ready for 3 more events with no maintenance except oil changes!

Oh yea - gotta buy Dave a case of PBR = $5

new GC tophats and swap out my rear springs

Then I think I will be ready to go.

-resurface rear rotors
-install stainless lines
-flush brake lines
-put tires on advan 16s

Install built motor
Install titlon clutch
Install turbo kit
Install aem standalone
Tune
Install thermal 3"
Install radiator
Intall egt, boost, oil p gauges
stock up on brake pads and oil and rotors

add timing belt tensioner to the list.. spark plugs? wires/rotor if it hasn't been replaced recently.
