Default Would like to hear a sound clip of SKUNK2 exhaust with a SILENCER ON IT... PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE..

Ive searched all the skunk2 related topics... neither of them have a sound clip of it with the silencer installed. As more than likely I will be driving around town with a silencer I would like to hear it with the silencer on. There arent many people in if any at all in Las Vegas with this exhaust system for me to hear...thanks guys

I have the skunk2 exhaust... (sorry no sound clip) But I can tell you this... With the silencer on it, it sounds very similar to all the other full exhausts I have heard. Maybe a little louder, but not by much. (I also felt a little power loss with the silencer on) Now- without the silencer it is loud as **** at WOT. But yet pretty quiet at idle, and normal accelaration.(sp?) I have a B18C5 block and GSR head and all the bolt ons. But I am very happy with it. I had a greddy exhaust on before and it was ok. But IMHO the skunk2 is bad *** if you want everyone to know you are around... If the cops in your city are dicks and like to mess with imports, I would not recomend this exhaust. Cause it is loud.(when you get on it) Hope this helps. I wish I had a sound clip to share but I threw the silencer away about 2 years ago.

skunk2 exhaust IMHO is way the **** to loud... i had it on for a few days (homie was borrowing my stock exhaust for ticket or sum ****) and i was NOT pleased with how loud it is... on the other hand i had a Greddy EVO... IMHO, nicer all across the board

I had the Skunk2 on EX coupe I just sold and I honestly have to say that compared to all the Queer-*** ricers it sounded nice and deep. It has a suffucient resonator on the B-Pipe which quiets the whole thing down quite a bit.

I think the key is having a bigger engine though because on my SOHC 1.6L it was noticably louder than my 2.0L B20vtec.

No Raspy sound

my silencer fell out no more than a 100ft down the road after I installed it.

Honestly, there was no noticable difference with it in.

skunk2 cat back, dc header, aem cai on a d16y8.

I think there was an exhaust thread awhile back where someone posted up a link to a sound clip of a skunk2 exhaust. Can't remember which thread so anyone feel free to post up the link if you find it before me. Im not sure if the clip was with the silencer in or out but I definitely want to hear it again.

I dont recall hearing any Skunk2 exhaust that I know of but I would recommend a Greddy Evo2. I got one on my car and I love it. It is really quiet but gets pretty loud at WOT. Good luck with whatever exhaust you choose but I have heard that the Skunk2 exhaust is really loud all the time. But some people like those attention getting exhaust. And yeah if the cops around your area are dicks to imports you might even look into getting bigger piping and keeping the stock muffler on it. But anyways hope you find the exhaust your looking for.

Here is a video of my car with a skunk2, click the image to see it

first rev is about 25-3000
second rev is about 45-5000
third rev is about 6-6500 rpms.
its quiet while driving at low revs, but at WOT it gets louder.
The video is about 10 megs.

This is a d16y8 with AEM cai, DC 4-2-1 header, stock cat, and Skunk2 cat back - No silencer.
In the summer the exhaust was pretty quiet, deep but quiet. The few times I took it out during the cold, I noticed it is quite a bit louder - not so much really on the outside, but there is a louder drone inside the car. I still love it though, If I'm ever concerned about loudness near a cop, I just up-shift a gear and let off the gas.

Thanks, I'm happy with it, not 100% satisfied, but very pleased. I feel it just gets a little too loud in winter weather. No snow yet = me still driving.

Thanks, I forget how much it was exactly, but I got it from H-T sponser RobearRacing. I know it had free shipping, give him a call, they have great customer service.

Click on it once, Windows Media player will pop up. Its a 10 meg video which has to load all at once first. If the picture is up, the video is up ~ its on the same server, and yes even on cable it will still take a minute or so.

Is you still have issues, try right clicking ==> save as to download then view.

I would, but I dont like quicktime. For reference, is it a Skunk2 exhaust? All you said was b16 with an EX cat.
