Default using dx tranny for d16z6??

how will it affect performance??? compared to using an ex tranny??

It has much longer gearing so it will make you accelerate slower, make you shift at a higher speed (like 30 mph to get out of first vs 20 or so) you'll get better gas millage.

And how exactly would the tires hook up on a frictionless road? Physics pwnz j00.

Oh by the way, I'm running a DX tranny on my D16Y8 for now. I don't have everything put back together, but from what everyone says it'll be slower than if it had an EX tranny. Oh well, I'll see how it goes.

im lookin for a y8 tranny or z6 tranny for my y8 swap
cause my y8 tranny synrcros are badd
grinds 2 n 3rd
im willing to let go off a whole 99 dx motor d16y7 for a y8 or z6 tranny

oh yah dx trans BLOWS
gears are super low.
my friend had z6 swap with vx trans
and his car was slow
now its complete z6 and it moves 15.6's opposed to 16.0's

i'm still trying to figure out what you said

yes dx trannys blow. Switching to an ex should be good for at least 5 tenths off of your 1/4 time.

i dunno i have a turbo dx motor and i ran the same times in the 1/4 mile with the b7 tranny and the y8 tranny. maybe i bought the car with a ex tranny already on??????

On a turbo application I have noticed that having the DX or EX tranny really doesnt matter...many turbo D's run the same times regardless of tranny. Its much more of an issue with a naturally aspirated motor.
