Lightening up the stock hood/ cutting the bracing... how far can I go and be safe?
I've cut out a lot of the underbracing of my stock 91 si hood.
I've done this to reduce the weight of the POS, and also make room for the swap under there (valve cover was in danger of rubbing shiny raw).
How much and where should I remove to go to the extreme maximum of lightening on this POS hood. I have already installed hoodpins and intend to leave the latch (for theft deterrent reasons).
Should I make it 1 layer skin everywhere except the hood and the hinge area?
Any worries doing this?
How far have you gone?
Pics please!

its gonna be wobly as **** whenever you lift it, close it, or work under it. if you are planning on getting another hood go head and save the valve cover. but if your keeping that one indefinetly then only cut up wat u need.
all this honda tech reminds me i gotta write an essay

go ahead and cut the whole thing. It will not hurt anything. As long as you have the hood pins, I say you are straight.
just so everybody know... i don't feel very good about this
grap a cutting wheel and cut the hell out of it... just make sure the hood stays on the car when your going down the track...........................
<~~~~~~~ look its smiling like a doughnut... haha
