Cheap*er* 5 lug swap alternative
Ok I have read some of the 5-lug swap posts but I didn't see any of the following info in any of them. I want to do the 5 lug swap, but I don't feel like spending $1000+ for used parts, so here is my question:
Can you use normal DC integra spindles, and just buy the 5 lug hub new from Acura along with new bearings? And in the rear can't you just buy the new 5 lug hub/bearing assembly and reuse the regular DC integra trailing arms and LCA's?
The wheel bearings appear to be the same in the part numbers that I saw, and so are the spindles (at least they were the same in the parts diagrams I saw, but I have heard that they are slightly different), because I have mounted Type-r calipers and redrilled rotors to normal DC spindles in the past. The quotes on the parts I mentioned are less then $550 and they're brand new parts. I plan on using different calipers and I would want new rotors anyhow so it would be a waste to purchase a used setup cause I would not even use those front calipers or rotors. Also new brake lines will be needed for the front at the very leaset, but probably at the rear too. Unless someone can show me otherwise I think this setup should work. Please let me know if I am way off, but this should work from the parts diagrams I have seen. Am I forgetting something else that needs to be changed?

i've thought of the very same thing
looks like you will be able to do the fronts by just changing the hubs
but the rear will require the itr trailing arm
dimensions of rear caliper mounting location prohibits use of itr rear disc/caliper

This will work, hybrid guys have been doing it for years.

Even in the rear? From what others are saying, I would need the ITR trailing arms too.

Is there another alternative to using the ITR rear trailing arm? What is the difference? Does the hub move the rotor into a different location, or is it the caliper mounting bracket? On one car I installed a larger rear rotor and a caliper relocation bracket, but this was on a 4 lug. I was also told that the calipers were type-r but I couldn't confirm that.

I'm not 100% sure on the rear, but I can confirm this tomorrow. I could have sworn I saw a Civic that was once GSR braked, with 5 lug rears and GSR lca's. I'll update asap.

Yea the LCA I'm sure can be used as I have seen that done, but I didn't know that the rear trailing arms are different. I just looked at the part numbers and they are indeed different, so now I want to know how they're different. The rear trailing arms are crazy expensive so if there is a way I can modify the GSR/LS/RS arms I would like to do that.

You mean the rear trailing arms would work? or the front hubs? What rear trailing arms does the CRV use? I wonder if they're like the type-r or like the regular DC arms? Either way the goal is not to have to buy new rear arms, so I wonder what the options are. I wonder if Fast Brakes could make a rotor that would fit the normal teg rear caliper and bolt to the 5 lug hub...

i just check a honda parts site, and it looked like the CRV comes with rear drums.. im not sure if any specific year/model came with rear disks.. anyone know?
wooooohoooo 3000th post!!!
ok this is what the deal is... you can get new 5lug hubs and rotors, and 97+ prelude front calipers, or 94+ accord V6 and everything will bolt up. now for the rear the only problem is that only the R has 11" rear discs other than the 97+ prelude but the rear caliper mounting location and bracket is very different on a prelude so that is a no, and their entire rear knuckle is very weird. (we have one at the shop doing a turbo motor and i checked while it was on the lift) so basically saying you can get rear hubs and rotors but the caliper is basically is what is needed.
good luck finding just ITR rear calipers, so this would be something needed new from the dealer as well. and as dan stated, you will need new pads also for all 4 corners.
everything else can be used from the car, considereing its gsr to beging with.

10" rear rotors you mean.
I have a spare set of ITR rear calipers if anyone wants.

Ok so heres another question, what if you used the gsr rear trailing arms, with the type-r hubs/bearings and then had a set of gsr rotors redrilled for 5 lug and used the gsr calipers? I think this would work unless the hubs move the rotors either in or out in which case the caliper wouldn't sit centered over the rotor. So does anyone know if the type-r hubs change the rotor position? I guess I can check my friends type-r when i get back to the states but it would be easier if anyone knew.

Yea not really since no one is gpnna be willing to just sell the training arms....
Well maybe i'll just rock the 5-lug up front and the 4 lug rear!!!

So have you found out what works in the rear? I remember reading on here somewhere that itr rear calipers were the same size as gsr rear calipers. So wouldn't just using gsr calipers with itr rotors work or are the itr rotors larger then a gsr ones?
