Currently owning a 01 typeR.. and current mods are:

DC 4-1 Stainless Headers
Comptech Intake w/Icebox

And everything else all Stock.

What the best mod have you guys done with a $600 limit, that produces the most power for the buck~! I need to upgrade, yet not sure whats next! Help!

Maybe v-tec controller? etc..etc...

Cam gears + VAFC should be good if you don't plan on getting cams in the future.

Why would cam gears be a good next option. With stock ITR cams? Any significant powers?

Something to help me on the dragstrip? - Speed and Power i guess?

Maybe Catback? or Pulleys? or...sOso?

No need for pulleys. Catback is if you want to make more noise and definately is not a good bang for the buck.

Cam gears will utilize the current cams you have and allow for better tuning and power.

hMm, i would probably go with Cam Gears, any specific brand or any?
Im thinking Skunk2...
Would this be a noticable gain?

Also, how comparable is the ITR cams to SKUNK2 stage 2 cams.? ANy idea? Thanks.

This will definitely help you more in the lower rpms and lower gears. It's more noticable there, but helps out across the board.

If you want the most power....nitrous....

You never stated what you plan to do with your engine....a lot of people's suggestions are totally useless if you plan on turboing your car in the future....of course so is the header you have on there.

You need to plan an engine package and pick a powerband location instead of burning money. When you get that plan together, come back to us....until then, everyone's suggestions are just plain useless IMHO.

any cam gears will do their jobs... band is not important, but the one who do the tuning is important

On a stock engine? to get the most out of these you need a higher CR, like 12:1 or so, and that ain't cheap. And also valvesprings and maybe retainers because you will rev higher to make peak power. And not to forget camgears, a fpr and tuning...
This will add up to al lot more than 600$

I you roadcourse your R, a good set of tires will help you become much faster. Or save the money up for a good suspension. I seriously doubt that $600 will buy you more than 5hp from bolt-ons. Not worth it imo.

you are looking at improving your power by 15-20% with the ATS final drive IN EVERY GEAR IN ALL LOCATIONS OF THE POWERBAND. Now combine this with the more reduced rpm-range while on the strip (meaning you STAY in the strongest area of your powerband, which we know isnt exactly huge in the ITR) and you have just gotten PLENTY of BANG for your buck. Learn a little about torque multiplication and then go ahead and show me a better bang-for-the-buck product.

Just get ready to shift a little quicker.

If you can find a good used exhaust (Fujitsubo, SMSP, Hytech) in this price range then jump on it. Otherwise look into the ATS final drive.
