i coulda swore i saw a japanese website that has the specs of our cars that said something about 108 whp because it doesnt make sense for our cars to go as fast as they do...i mean fuel cuts off at 112mph...youde have to have at least 100 wheel horsepower to get that high of a mph right?

Most D16A6's will Dyno at around 105-110 HP AT THE WHEELS, bone stock. It is generally accepted that Honda UNDERATED the motor by about 10-15% There are some dyno sheets floating around on H-T showing 123HP with an ITA legal build (very close to stock).

depends on "very close to stock" means. but yeah, you can get 125+ whp without NOS or FI. heck, i get 111whp out of my untouched engine.

Very close to stock meaning, no cams, no port work in the head, basically a stock engine built "loose."

the HP gain of an ITA engine is mainly due to the port and polish. typically tho, they use overbore pistons as well. also the exhaust setup is key too. but its mostly the pp work, done by someone who knows what hes doing and with a flow bench. so dont get too excited about breaking out the dremel....

The reason why a motor will take longer to get there also is based on the gear ratio. An hf will go 80mph and so will an Si but the Si will get there faster because of the gear ratio not because of the HP.

Also i've been past 123 in my stock si. not for long tho because i thought my engine was going to explode at almost 7k but it does get up there pretty quick considering the 100hp

Super2NRTV got 110 or so whp out of a stock CRX Si. I think all of the numbers are whp, because 108 at the flywheel would suck *****, even in a 2000lb car.
