Default 92-95 ex/si vtec head swap into d15 (91 civic DX)

I recently got a 91 honda civic DX and i plan to change the head with a vtec head, and the manifold with an si manifold along with the header. I've been getting good and bad consequences of this swap from other people and they tell me if i do change the head things will be unreliable and it will start leaking? but what do you guys think? is it safe to replace the head with a vtec head?

well to be honest my minime swap hasent fell apart yet, and my mini me is in a crx. and my hatch has a B16 in it and there almost the same. so for the cost i would do a mini me swap. take it as you will. and yes my b16 is perfectly fine.

If you are on a budget, then do it. Just make sure you do it right the first time. Spend some money on quality (OEM) replacement parts like the head gasket, timing belt, and even you water pump (if your funding allows). Do your research and prep as best you can before you get your hands dirty. Good luck with your project.

yeah i just recently had a tune up before i registered it because it couldn't pass smog. as for the timing belt, i changed it but should i change it again once i swap the head? and also what other plans should i do to the car after the mini me swap? exhaust system?

You are going to need to use the D16Z6 timing belt. As for what you do after is up to you.
