That makes no sense at all and it's pretty obvious you have no idea what you are talking about.

There are a lot more factors involved in how long an engine will last when it's boosted...

Tuning is probably #1.

Sarcasm is a wonderful thing, and most supercharger kits come with universal engine management mods that aren't tuned well enough to any specific application to guarantee any sort of long term reliability.

Exactly Kendall....but I didn't mention anything about using a universal engine management....my mistake.

If one doesn't take tuning seriously, it's the end of the motor. That means getting an engine management that knows what they're doing...i.e. Hondata or AEM EMS.

Nope, I never said that. Let's all get back to the real world here....you can't boost a stock engine to high Heaven, that's almost a "no need to say" statement, errr at least I thought it was.

The most important thing when boosting a motor (yeah yeah, within reasonable PSI standards) is tuning.

You seem to be stressing on PSI...I'm stressing on tuning because of people who don't bother to do it right and then blow up their engine on 8 psi....then they come back to boards like this and go "I blew up my engine on 8 psi." Then everyone jumps on the bandwagon and goes "you can't boost your engine to 8 psi." You never hear the other half of the story.

it depends on several things..

1. first.. condition/age of your car/motor.. everything is a wear item and how much hp you want to run. a boosted application that kept in low 200's on stock itr can be very reliable in my opinion.

2. if you pass on that, then you need proper fuel managment and good tuner, and just quality and reliability of parts that will make your setup work.

3. now, if you happen to get everything working well, the rest depends on your mad driving skills and keeping up with maintainance.

with all that said, go turbo.

nice numbers.

The jrsc uses an eaton m62 right? Is 10psi fine for the m62? I heard from magnusen that 6-7psi was it's optimal operating range. I don't have any experience with the jrsc, so I'm pretty curious. Thanks in advance for the help/info.

i, personally, wouldn't go above 8.. technically, anything over the original pulley can mess up the supercharger, but I've seen quite a few 8 psi setups with no problems and lots of miles racked up..

JRSC is fine on an ITR, as long as you tune it properly. Engine management is KEY..
