Default What are the Handling Characteristics of the ITR

In it's most stock form, does the USDM ITR tend to oversteer, understeer, or feel nuetral? I say USDM because I believe there's some differences, when it comes to parts that are involved in handling, between the USDM and JDM.

I was wondering because I'm interested in the effects of adding the JDM rear upper strut tower bar. If I add this, how will it changed the handling? TIA

In my experience, the R tends toward oversteer at high speeds and understeer at low speeds. For example, in long, sweeping turns, it is possible to rotate the rear end with just a small breath off the throttle. In low speed sharp turns, it can be difficult to rotate the car as it tends to plow, so you have to really stick to the slow-in-fast-out mantra or you'll scrub too much speed too late. As for the strut bar, in the rear it will help (only help, and only a little) rotate the rear end and lessen the understeer. Nothing drastic.

Understeer.

The rear strut bar won't do much btw - kind of a bling bling piece if you ask me. If you really want to stiffen the chassis noticeably - go with a weld-in cage or even a 4-pt roll bar.

Thanks Guys. So scratch the JDM strut bar for my ITR. How about a thicker rear stabilizer bar? Will this be a better investment in trying to make my car more neutral?

I would say yes to that question.
