92-96 Prelude Speakers... What are the sizes??
I have been doing some research and it looks like the front component speakers and the rear speakers are supposed to be 6.5". But when I took them out they look like they're only 5.25". Has anyone here with the 4th gen Prelude changed out their speakers, if so, what size speakers did you put. Also, how did you connect the front components (Where was the tweeter and mid-bass split). Thanks for your help!
Im not totally sure on this, but To my knowledge they are 61/2s all the way around. The doors are probably playing full range and the tweets prolly have a cap on em to block out the bass. I dont wanna promise you anything though cuz mine came stock with the spkrs exchanged and as i said the doors are playin full range and the tweets still play just the highs ( which is why I think thats how they come factory). Im takin my panels off next week sometime so I'll let you know...
6.5' s and the tweeter hides up on the dash behind the covers (the only thing mesh looking on the dash at both sides) and like needatrueno said there was a cap on the tweeters blocking the low freq's. But I would just get some nice 6.5 3 ways all the way around and call it a day and forget the tweeters.
6.5" all the way round, and they look like 1.5" tweeters in the front. I disconnected them to see how the sound quality was and i didn't like it. Get some nice *** tweeters and a good set of 3ways and it will sound good with the 6 x 9 sorry excuse for a subwoofer in the back
we just had a very detailed thread on this check it out..
