Default Exhaust question

How many hp can you get if you just add an intake and headers. i really dont want a nasty muffler sound.
Thanks flex

there are plenty of exhaust setups that sound good and not too loud....plus the exhaust is what really lets the engine breath and adds hp.

depends on your gen, but for my 2003, aem intake, dc 4-2-1 header, and catback gains me on 24 something hp and 20 ft/lbs, dyno'ed. That's the best I have seen so far.

check dc and aem's site, they usually have some dyno charts for gains with this and that mods

Well with an intake and header (4cyl) or headers (6cyl) it would depend. I know everyone on here thinks you get like 30 HP out of I/H/E but I sure the hell didnt. Maybe if you have a V-6 you might get some good power or even a 2003 or newer 4 cylinder but dont expect much from the f22 or f23. Also the quietest exhaust that I have heard is the RS*R Im not sure if they are selling in the u.s. again or not but you might want to check them out.

i have seen dyno's and it is suprising on how much hp intake and headers add. intake adds like 3-4 hp and headers add under 10 or so .. but it varys with setup / car

unless uve got V6.....no way in hell is that possible

to answer ur ?, i/h/e wont do all that much, even with pulleys (although its all some of us can afford/are capable of doing ) AEM CAI is best intake, DC or Greddy makes affordable headers, and if u want a quiet exhaust, check out the Apexi World sport....and FYI, my intake @ 5000 is louder than my buddies old Suby 2.5rs w/ apexi N1.....no ****, intake can be loud, it wont sound stock
