what kind of communicators do you guys use?
Meh, a motorolla 2 way with a 2 mile range works well enough, coupled with a 15 dollar neck mic.
Put the radio on your belt with a swivel clip sideways and then all you have to do is reach down and hit the PTT button when you want to talk.
It might be more dangerous but it's better than paying 200 dollars for a chatterbox system.

Me and my buddy Lift on this board have some 5 mile range motorolas that we got for skiing, now we are just going to use the voice activated headsets that turn on when you talk into the mike. WAYYYY better than paying for chatterboxes, but we'll see how it turns out when all this snow melts.
Yeah, I was gonna say, a lot of really inexpensive FRS radios have adjustable voice activated talk now. Like 20$ each and cheaper. Get you a $5 headset and you're good to go.
I've also seen earbuds which function as both speaker and microphone. They pickup on your eardrum vibrating as you speak I think. Has anybody tried a product with this technology? It'd be great for use inside a helmet.

We were supposed to be getting the headsets like...yesterday. So as soon as we de we'll pop on the helmets and test em out while sitting on the bikes in the garage. Lord knows I'd love to go for a spin, but its -32 degrees out.

It really depends on what your friends have. If they all have the frs model there is no point of you getting an x2 or x1. The digitals and analogs dont really work too well with each other. I have an x1 and most of my buddies too. Best out there, very clean and clear sound, and very long range. If you look around on the internet you can usually find a good deal on em for like ~220 shipped.
jumping off seems to let people behind me know to slow down. Seriously group rides always have a set of hand signals. Most are standard
