Default 1999-2000 Civic Si Wheels on my 99 EK

Maybe I'm just retarded or something.

I'm late for work right now, so I was trying to rush to do this before 12:00. I couldn't get the back wheels to lay flush against the drums so i could tighten them with the lugnuts. I have aftermarket lugnuts so i think I'll have to try it with some oem lugnuts later.

I was expecting to just run do there and throw them on in about ten minutes, but I never could get the back ones to lay flat against the drums. it seemed like there was a gap between the back of the wheel and the drum. never tried the front ones, didn't have time.

Anyone have any similiar issues?

probably not, oh well.. I'll try again tonight when i get off.

most important thing is see how they lay when the lugnuts are tight not before tightening.

they should fit unless your drum has something sticking out of it.....hmm that wierd, all honda wheels are interchangeble assuming the lug pattern is the same...

there is a blue ring around all the axle nuts that is preventing the wheels from going on, it lays flush against that ring, preventing it from reaching the face of the drum...

what kinda wheels you had on it before? perhap the blue ring could be a spacer for your old wheel?

here are the pics...

these are my 14" wheels still on the car with the blue ring sitting inside of the circular opening...

the infamous blue ring

a side shot, sticks out just far enough to keep my si wheels off

this is a pic of the back of my 14" wheels, wide opening that fits over the blue ring

the si opening is smaller and does not fit over it

once again, these wheels do not fit over this blue ring

i was also thinking that oem lugnuts would be better but... i can't get the wheel on, so lugnuts aren't an issue yet. i'm an hour late for work. if you guys get any ideas please post them. i'll be back online around 8:00

That is what's called a hubcentric ring and it's suppose to come off. They get kinda ceased on there and it will take some work to get them off.

nothing special... 14" American Racing wheels... i bought them b/c they were cheap as hell and easy to clean... needed new tires since these are about 20 months old... found some local guy selling his si wheels for $300... couldn't pass that up...then talked him down to $250 for one odd tire, and having to drive so far to meet with him

Get yourself a screwdriver and a hammer. If that doesn't work, use a bigger hammer.

funny stuff.....just hit the ring with a screwdriver and hammer evenly around the ring until it starts to come off
