Default Newb question and im gonna get flamed (has to do with cams)

I know ima get flamed for this, but i was wondering what the cam profile numbers mean for example the toda spec b cam has numbers like this:
Intake: 250 (11.0) - 295 (12.0) - 250 (11.0)
Exhaust: 250 (11.0) - 285 (12.0) - 250 (11.0)

now i know the 2 outer numbers are for non-vtec operation and the middle ones are for the vtec lobes but i was wondering exactly what the numbers mean.

ne help would be great thanks guys

I don't see why you'd get flamed for actually asking a tech question in here.

i think duration, and (overlap)? more overlap is going to cause rougher idle, but better performance, like most things with automobiles, its a balancing act.

good question, you deserve a good reply

Intake: 250 (11.0) - 295 (12.0) - 250 (11.0)
Exhaust: 250 (11.0) - 285 (12.0) - 250 (11.0)

the 250 is the Duration at 1mm
the 11.0 is the lift in mm
and you were correct about the outside being non vtec and the inside being vtec b/c when vtec kicks in it locks both valves into one profile

Thanks man, ok so 1 more question the 250 does that have to do with the rotation degree of the crankshaft as well? And exactly what is duration i know its how long the vavle stays open but does it like stay closed or open for 250 degrees of the crankshaft rotation or something? Or am i just shooting in the dark?

P.S. thanks for not flaming me, i know its a tad newbish but i wanted to know so i can choose the best cams for my SiR II application.
