CRX Squeeks??
having owned and driven several CRXs I have noticed they all have that annoying squeek coming from the back when going over bumps. Does anyone know the cause? Thanks.
pop the hatch. when u look at the bottom that sits on top of the tail light section u will see 2 rubber '*****'.these ***** have spiral cuts int them. these slots allow for the ***** to be 'tuned' in or out just as u would tighten or loosen a bolt. i would suggest turning the ***** as if u were tryin to take a bolt out. it wont cure the squeakin but it will definately decrease the noise
Finally, after driving around with that squeek for nearly 15 years, I got irked enough to do something about the exact same issue you describe in your post Robb. I guess after hearing it for so long, my mind just blocked it out.
Oh well, the easiest and quickest fix is to put electrical tape around the "loop" that the hatch lock mechanism locks onto so that your hatch doesn't fly open while you're driving. Kind of hard to explain without a picture. Does it make sense though?

I already knew this solution, because the exact same thing was going on for all the time that I had my '92 Civic. Honda did a booboo when it decided to do a 2-part rear hatch.......
Anyway, indeed some electrical tape should fix it right up.........dont use too much though, because a) it wont lock as easily (or at all), and b) it will put more strain on the lock......
