Default b16 stock header cover

its there as a heat shield right? so ppl take it off for looks, but taking it off does increase the heat temp in the engine bay? im thinking the heat shield is there to keep the engine air as cool as possible and not getting anymore heat from the headers...

Well, I think mostly its to minimize heat transfer to the a/c system which sits right in front of the header. I took mine off anyway, and have had no problems.
