Okay, i just went down to the local auto wrecking and they had in stock a 99 d16y8, i been needing my car to run asap for awhile now and this place is the only place that has it locally.
I made a deal with the guy for $1000.00 for the engine, transmission, axles, shift linkage, and harness. He is also going to get me free delivery to my house (30 mins). The package included a 30 day warranty.
Is this a good deal or not?

its about under 50k and ive been looking on honda tech for y8s for weeks and cant find one, i start school soon and i need a way to get to places.
yea, usually people sell them for around 650-700 but how much do you think the shipping would be?
and people on ht sell them that cheap because they want to get rid of them and these people need profit.
and im getting a p28 95 si ecu from some other guy for 80 bucks

Not a good deal if that is the best you can get in your area well go ahead but for $300 more you can get a complete B16 swap. Ive seen good y8's go for $400 and the tranny should cost you $200 you can ask around here in n honda-tech for these prices in the classifieds I am sure someone has both tranny and engine lying around. And I dont think you would need the axles and the shift linkage to do this swap yours should work with this swap. What about the ECU? Oh and since you live Socal you can look in to HMOmotors or Nippon-motors they have good prices and customer service. You can get a d15b vtec 128hp and tranny for less then $700 on HMOmotors.
Ive seen complete y'8s go for $500 or so. 1000 is a little steep if you look around or wait a little longer you could probably find one alot cheaper.
