Default D16z6 head on d15b2 for door panels.

Today i was at a gas station and approached bye someone who commented on my car.He said he had a 1991 crx dx with mpfi swap and d1y7 engine. He said that he is looking for door panels if i know anyone.I have a stripped 1990 crx dx with stock engine but really bad compression.Car basically has no power and 300k miles on it.Although im not sure if the engine is original. The guy said he would do the mpfi swap and install his d16z6 head for me.Is this a good deal?Do you think it will make the car wake up?I was planning on doing a b series engine, but he said this will give me enough power on a stripped crx too hit a low 15,and im guessing with this shitty engine its around 30 sec, haha.Think its worth it?

You have nothing to loose but a couple of door panels that you aren't using anymore. I say go for it cause when it's time for the b-series swap your car will already be wired for four injectors, then all you have to worry about is wiring the vtec.

well the car is gonna have vtec because it is a d16z6?What would a major stripped crx run in the 1/4 mile with this swap.I mean everything out, interior no bumper supports carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber flip roof. Also would this solve compression problem?

The compression could be lost through the rings. So its hard to say. Might not help the car much if anything.

If it is the rings,is there anything i can do cheap too fix it?Or do i have too buy new pistons,I dont mind spending money but i would really much rather save for a swap or build a nasty engine. But how hard would it be if the rings were gone. All i know is the engine has no power what so ever. And it smokes out the back...but it has 292k on it.What can you expect

also if it is the pistons, what kind of pistons can i get for high compression?Around 11.1-1 or so?I head d16a1 pistons work good, or is that wrong?

yeah it can be done but you need an adjustable cam gear.. the timing will be off slightly... also you dont need to replace pistons - just the rings! go ahead and do main bearings and connecting rod bearings. mpfi alone woke my car up... i cant wait to see how my d16y8 will yank it around
