Default your ultimate street CRX motor setup?

im gonna build a crx and was wonderin what you guys' favorite setups are or what your dream setup is

im lookin to be faster than mustangs, camaros, transam's, if possible keep up with C5's, and built rx7's

ill probably have around $10,000 to spend on a motor, if thats possible to get out what i want

has anybody put a turbo on a h22, i would think that would be lag city but whiplash acceleration 65mph +

im not doing NOS im not a big fan of it, unless somebody can persuade me otherwise

theres hardly nothing around here for building imports untill i move back to chicago, ill be doing alot of assembly myself, will send off for machineable parts, or if i have to drive hr and half thats not hard.

basically if you guys had $10,000 to spend on a motor to go as fast on the street as you can, what would it be

im leaning towards B20

oh ya, its gonna be a daily driver

dart block, 14:1 compression, CP pistons ITR head, RM cams, Toda ITBs, hytech header, itr trans with lsd with full standalone AEM EMS or MOTECH. use the leftover money to put race gas in it! or go b20 sleeved with a monster turbo. h22 turbo, yeah right, not enough room

probally because people who are interested in B18c5's in crx's want the project to be theirs...not pre-built from the assembly line from someone else...

I'd go for a built b18a turbo. I'm not a big fan of turboing a vtec engine, and the b20 just seems like it adds more complications than it's worth.

Well I think you got a wide range of cars to beat there. C5's run 12.9'ish if i remember right. So your looking for a sub 13 sec. crx here.

Bias of course, because this is somewhat what i'm doing. But...built B16a (resleeve to 84mm bore, pistons, rods, valvtrain, lowe compression), medium sized turbo (mabye T3/To4e around .57/.57), just suspensin set up, breaks to stop yourself after beating the C5, hondata or similar, fuel upgrade, and a good dyno tune.

Did i mention a good dyno tune? Yeah basically i'm all for the engine swap + turbo. Built, run 15psi, maybe more at track.

Boost owns. 300 at the wheels in a 2200 pound car will molest a modded C5 Vette

everything he said is good exept for the dart block. The sleeves have been known to fall out AEBS is way better, bulletproof even. that would be my choice for iron sleeves.
