delemma about wrecked car, what to do next.........
ok i have been hagaling with my insurence company for over a month now for a decision on an accident that happened (not my fault, was cut off and have wittnesses) on december 10th. the accident wasnt bad and the car is still driveable but i have chosen not to since before christmas. i was sent to get estimates and got one at a garage that is certified by my company on new years eve and it was for 3100 and DID NOT TOTAL (still 2003 remember) the car. than i went to the local honda dealer that same day but they did the apprasial on january 3'rd or so (2004). funny thing is both estimates were written on the same software and were both done by CERTIFIED shops. meaning the insurence company wont even bother to send out an adjuster and take the shops word for it because the person doing the appraisals are licensed through the company. anyhow the appraisal done in 2004 DID total my car but the overall cost difference between the 2 estimates was about $70. anyhow my mother used to be an apraiser and is actatually still licensed to practice, and tells me that they go by the "DATE OF THE LOSS" and i should be good.
if they fix my car than i have some friends at both of the shops that are going to hook me up and make arrangements for me to pay out of pocket for the rest of the car to be repaired and quiet possibly a color change (that butterscoth color that came on WRX wagons for a while or UPS brown) .
more than likely they will total the car though because it is a 95 with 213,000 miles on the VIN number and thats all that matters to them. im probobly going to get a check for about $3000 and will buy the car back and part it out and buy a teg, or will find another shell at the auiction for about $1000
my delemma is what to do now, i am still waiting for a check and it is damn near impossible to get ahold of the people i have to at the insurence company handelling my claim. what am i supposed to do?

get the check and run. buy your car back and part out as much as you want then send it to a scrap yard for more money. keep the **** off of it that you want. buy a shell from an auction and start over.
yea but the probolem is i cant get the check or a straight awnser from my insurence company... and i dont exactally want to be a ******** to the people that are going to cut me a check. but over a month for a claim that should have been setled in 2 weeks at the most is kind of rediculious

dude you have to be a ******** to them cause they won't write you a check if you act like you're not worried about it. They are a company..and obviously they are hoping to scam you. And your insurance company shouldn't be paying for your car, it should be the guy who caused the accident
we both have the same company so they dont wanna pay twice and i only have liabillity as apposed to her full coverage so they obviously would be willing to take care of her before me cause they make more money off her
