Default Rota C10 (MF10 replica) w/ spoon calipers. What offset?

Well I've always wanted a set of MF10's, however, thanks to their $500 a piece price tag, I don't think i'll ever own a set. But now, Rota has come out with the C10 in 5 lug and I'd like to pick up a set of 16"ers. My problem is they only come in +45 offset. Will this clear the calipers or will I have to run a spacer? I'm running spacers now, so its not that big of a deal, I was just wondering.

Also, what size tire should I run on these? An suggestions?

Make me a reasonable offer.
Though, I think I'll still probably keep mine.

Sorry Craig, no idea if the C10's will fit with the Smurf calipers, though I could try and measure my SSR wheel .... Ed

Thanks Ed, but I don't think it will help much. I need someone with MF10's and spoon calipers. If I remember correctly 50mm offset where the only ones that would fit. But considering the rotas only come the 45mm, guess it really doesn't matter

But what about tire size?

MF10's in +50mm wiill not clear spoon calipers. But, +43mm, IIRC, MF10 clears w/o a spacer.

Would +45mm C10 clear spoonies? I dunno. Probably cutting it close and you won't know until you try it out.

Well, I'm already runnning 5mm (or 8mm I don't remember) spacers so the Mazda rims will clear. Not that big of a deal really.

considering sw388s are only 45 offset and clear their own calipers, i doubt that a rota of the same offset will have much trouble.

I've already got the C10's in 16" w/ 45mm offset. I'm running 215/45/16 Azenis. Why don't you send me your Spoon calipers and I'll test them for a few months on my car with the C10's. I'll let you know if you need a spacer.

The Spoons need 2" clearance between disc surface and the rim IIRC. I think I have seen a pic somewhere with this measurement shown.

The problem is that the sw388 have different spoke designs that don't hit, but the c10's will. Just like the stock rims fit with no spacer, but the mazda rims, which have the same offset as stock, hit the calipers.

y0 craig, the mazda's you have are +50 offset.
If the Rota's you are looking at are +45, you'll probably need a 2-3mm spacer, since the +43 MF10's fit over the Spoon Calipers. Or you could just use your 5mm spacers or whatever you have....

I can't believe everyone is talking about offset without talking about wheel width...are they all the same width?

No offense, but why would wheel width matter when discussing offset in regards to wheel to caliper clearance?

Width would matter if we were discussing backspacing however.

I had to learn the hardway about MF10's and Spoon Calipers. +50's don't clear, +43's do. MF10's were 16x7.

You already use spacers so who cares biatch? just buy them, put the spoonies on the hatch with the mazda wheels/spacers and run the Rota's on the hype-r.

LOL!

Those C10s/MF10s do look really nice though, whether on CW-FBP/NHP and even PY.
