Default Dyno results. 00 GS-R, JDM ITR 4-1, AEM CAI.... more.

Here's some pulls I did with my GS-R tonight..

the baseline numbers (152hp and 112lbs tq) were with: AEM CAI and 18 degrees timing.

New numbers with:
AEM CAI
18 degrees timing
JDM ITR 4-1
Carsound Cat (94006)

Everything else is bone stock.

"Base" vs JDM ITR 4-1 and Carsound Cat with Power Steering Hooked Up: (link to full BMP)

"Base" vs JDM ITR 4-1 and Carsound Cat WITHOUT power steering hooked up:(link to full BMP)

Current setup, once with power steering, then without:(link to full BMP)

Looks like pretty good numbers even though you don't have much on your car. I think I may take my power steering off after seeing these. not bad

it seems like you have a strong motor!! I think my motor also runs pretty strong compared to other GSR's.
All you need now is some good cams and exhaust! The race is on!
Here's my plot with my mods listed below. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=69586

fast: very nice. Next on my list is a real exhaust (oem gs-r exhaust sucks *** coming from a 2.5" cat.. hehe), then going to do mugen head gasket, 00/01 ITR cams, mill head, VAFC and some toda cam gears. That's a bit off tho, I have more important projects.

dude, my base run when I only had cai/h/e/18 deg. timing was 158 whp. I gained 18 whp after cams, gears, cat, VAFC and tuning. I would not be surprise if you hit 180 whp after cams, gears and VAFC!!! that's awesome!!

1fast: I would be 1) happy 2) impressed and 3) surprised. I'm still surprised by these numbers, I was expecting 158 maybe 159.

I'll def keep you guys up to date on the Integra, currently my money needs to go to it's track event needs (brakes, cage, etc) and then to my golf so I can sell it and get a 1st gen rx7.

Disco: N/P. The Base isn't a true base though. It was with a AEM CAI and advanced timing. But, it's a base in a way since nothing changed besides the header and cat. I'll redyno with whatever exhaust I decide on.

yeah i know it wasnt a true base. more like a before and after. which is exactly what i wanted to see. and i know its not just the header but also the free flowing cat as well. but i just wanted to see if there really were any large loses in low end power or not.

dude, It's weird how you are the only one I know that did not experience ANY LOSS in low/mid range!!!!! Could it be because you still have the stock exhaust will still acts as a bottle neck? I don't know, but your gains in the midrange and pretty impressive (almost 12 whp at one point!!). I don't get it now why everyone else says that they lose low/mid range??!!!!!!

1fast: I def could be that the stock exhaust is creating one hell of a bottle neck, we'll find out soon. (after I put in a ITR tranny, ******* HONDA! (sorry, clutch is going already so I figure that since I gotta pull the tranny anyways....))

As you pointed out before, I was running the OEM manifold/a-pipe before. I could have lost low end vs a comptech 4-2-1 or dc 4-2-1, etc.

oh, but I will say that vs stock, with just an intake, jdm itr 4-1, cat and advanced timing I am well above what a stock gs-r puts down in torque So while you may lose some low end vs a good 4-2-1 you'll still be over the stock #'s

I was looking at my plots and I did not make as much HP as you did ANYWHERE!!!
You should be around 164 whp with a good exhaust which is way above most, 99.99%, GSR's with similar mods. Some GSR's Ive seen only put down 155 whp with cai/h/e!!
what year id your GSR?

It's a 2000 GS-R. A friend of mine with a 99 who also had the AEM and 18 degrees timing (mine was set at 15-16 at the time though) was equal in a rolling start race we did (tried to eliminate launch differences) so I never really thought my car was any better than others. The guy who owns the dyno (John, VaperTrail on this board) was also a bit surprised. We were both expecting 158 or so at best. I honestly believe that the 2.5" collector and cat had a lot to do with it. Also, I didn't port the primaries like I should have, instead i just had the header jet hot coated. Supposedly porting and rewelding the primaries on the JDM 4-1 is worth another 1-2hp but I've never seen (or at least I don't recall) any back to back tests on the same car/same day to back that up.

I will keep everyone posted on what happens with the car. It'll probably be a few months before I touch it (got some event almost every weekend from now until mid november, then some more in Dec)
