I have found a 04 WRX STI shift **** for sale. I was wonderin if it would fit my 98 civic, if it had the same thread or not? Any ideas...

The picture of it on ebay is a 5-speed and is leather wrapped with red stitching. Looks like a honda oem shift ****. I think the man selling it has no idea what it is I guess.
Go to a Subaru stealership and ask if the have the 2.5RS shift **** in stock. If they do ask them if you can see if it will fit. If it does, take it back in, put your stock **** back on and head to ebay.

I know Nissan has different threads on the shift **** (it's a fatter rod that the shifter threads on), but I can't say for sure. At least that dispells the idea that all of them are the same.
I tried using a leather WRX **** on my civic and it would not fit. Assuming that the threads on the STI **** are the same as the regular WRX then I don't think it will fit.
If it doesn't you can shave down the inside of the WRX shift **** and use rubber cement to glue it to your stick.
Not the cleanest way, but if you do it carefully, no one will be able to tell.

Im not worried about it that much. It just appealed to me at the time because it was around 10 dollars and resembled an itr shift ****. Black with red stitching and looked identical.
