i know if i want bass to get a sub, but i don't really want a huge thing in my trunk (need space for grocery ) well i have a kenwood headunit(40x4), 4 pioneer/kenwood 5 1/4(120w/150w). my sound still sucks..can anyone help me..? my friend's car is a 1990 accord stock everything except for the kenwood headunit (45x4)and his sounds like it has a sub..what did i do wrong? i just want it to have a decent sound of bass w/o the aid of a sub nor amp. maybe bigger speakers? or higher powered HU? thanks for the help.

 

most likely bigger speakers would help, but you aren't going to be able to go too much larger. 6.5s. But you could go with a higher powered HU, but thats gonna run you much more than a good multichannel amp. If it was me, and i wanted some bass from just coaxials, i would put more power to them. Also, those 5 1/4s could be mids instead of woofers, i am not sure.

 

if you want a small setup.. just get a amplified bazooka tube.. maybe a 6.5 inch or 8inch sub.. i had a 10 inch in my integra for my first system sub and it slammed hard!! but only cuz i made it, you can have it adjusted so its not that hard but gives you good sound.. check them out

 

just upgrade your in side spekers to better ones not no cheap ones u get what u pay

 

thanks guys...now i know where to start....BIGGER SPEAKERS!!! i was thinking about another HU but dont want to spend so much money..not really into that whole "i got a better system" thing...i just want to have a decent sound..i will have to see if 6 1/2's fit my car. i guess i will be heading to al & ed's auto sound tomorrow! thanks again!!!
