I did a search and could not find my answer...
I am getting a great deal on a new Optima Yellow top from a friend. However, I am not running a big audio system. Just an Alpine deck and I will soon switch out my speakers. Other than that it's a daily driver and I don't plan on anything else much for now.
My question is... are there any cons in getting this battery with my setup? BTW, my friend has one left at $60, that's why I am getting it.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Nope. If you can get if for 60 bucks then go for it.

$60 is damn cheap. Regular batteries are already about 40-50 bucks. Spend the extra $10 on that optima. Tad faster recharge time than regular batteries and can dip into lower voltages without being damage (~10v).
Not to mention they last longer too.

Cool! Thanks for the replies! I don't know much about deep cycle batteries so I wanted to make sure I don't harm my car.

It won't harm the car, but you will never need it with your current set up.
Your situation would be alot like this.
It's like telling a guy who can bench 200lbs to bench 10lbs.
He can do it, but he will not be using his full potential.
For $60 I'll buy it.
