As long as all 4 cylinders read the same (or very close) number, it's fine.

Examples.

180 180 180 180 = Smooth sailing.

180 180 180 155 = Houston, we have a problem.

You can buy a tester at your local Pep Boys, or AutoZone. Around $30.

Aren't the stock wires numbered?

I'm pretty sure they are.

Isnt that compression a little high for the F23A? IF its anything like my F22 it should be around 180.

f23 has higher compression than f22

the numbers are also related to the number of times you crank it

f23 vtec motors are 9.3:1
I'm pretty sure f22 motors were in the high 8s:1
