Default hesitation problem please help....

I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem I am having. My car problem is that when I give it gas it goes good till I hit about 2000-3000 RPM's then it has this really bad hesitation then it goes really good after 3000 RPM's. I was thinking it might be the fuel filter but I do not know well if someone can help me out with some info that will be helpful.

Is the car stock? HOw many miles? what model?

Have you checked the basics like plugs, wires, cap/rotor??

I had a similar problem, it was caused by my o2 sensors.

The cars cap, rotor, plugs and wires are all brand new oew honda. timing is set to 18 degrees. The motor is a 1992 civic SI motor (d16z6) but the head is a 2000 civic ex head (d16y8) and I have just the basic bolt ons I/H/E. One more thing my car was converted over to OBD-1 running a P-28 computer plus I am runnin the 4 wire O2 sensor. thats about all I can think right know if I think of anything eles I will let you know.

d series = one 02 sensor?

Did you have to relocate it to a different pin?

This is EXACTLY what my car does. 96 d16y5. Timing is advanced 1 degree. New distributor, wires, plugs. Still, I can't get it figured out. Is it fuel? or a tps? anyone please!
