Default Painting a small scratch & finishing it

I'd had a scratch on my rear bumper (down to the black plastic) and I used touch up paint to fill it in (3-4 thin coats). Now, it's near the correct color, but obviously not smooth (the paint is higher than the surrounding surface).

Should I use 2000 grit and wet sand it down by hand? After that could I just use any polish (Maguires 7?) to shine it up? What should I do?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

you can do exactly what you said. but just make sure you sand very lightly and then buff it out using a fine rubbing compund and then polish it up.
